50,000 Free Flights to be Given by Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines has announced they will be giving out 50,000 free flights. The flights are slated to take place by mid 2020 during the summertime.

Fly for Free

Japan’s premiere carrier for flights have offered these free flight tickets. Japan Airlines (JAL) is also being supported by Japan’s National Tourism Organization and their Tourism Agency. The main reason behind the free offers is mainly for tourism purposes.

These free flights coincide around the time when the 2020 Olympics will take place in Japan. Thus, the free flights act as a way to incentivize tourists and international guests to come and discover other locations in Japan.

With the 2020 Olympics coming, Japan’s tourism agencies are foreseeing that international guests will visit hotspots like Tokyo and Kyoto. The 50,000 free flights are set only for domestic locations within Japan. Hopefully, these encourage guests to explore other great spots in Japan.

There are a few things that people need to follow in order to be eligible for these free round-trip flights.

First of all, prospective free flyers need to apply for these free flights. The application process is slated to begin in February 2020. People may send their applications by then.

Groups as big as four people can come together and apply. They will be able to select their destination and arrival times, as well as one of possibly four potential destinations. JAL will be providing applicants relevant information on tours, sights, and attractions they can visit.

However, there is a catch.

The Catches

While they can apply for a specific destination, there is no guarantee that they will get it. In short, it will be a surprise destination that will be revealed no less than three days before the flights.

Thus, the provided information by JAL will allow people to plan their trips. However, it seems they must plan for all eventual possibilities.

It must also be noted that all of these flights will be leaving from either Tokyo’s Haneda Airport or the airport in Osaka. In addition, the flights must take place between July and September.

In order to be eligible for the free flight tickets, people must be part of JAL’s loyalty airline programme. They must also be an international guest that has a passport other than in Japan. The permanent residence in the passport must be from another country.

Finally, these guests must be able to prove that they have come from Japan within the summer.

If you are one of the unfortunate ones that does not get selected in the 50,000 free round-trip flight tickets, don’t worry. There are still a great number of offerings for you.

Numerous flights also have discounted prices. There are cashbacks for your shopping moments. The prices for luggage storage services are halved, and entrance fees to historical areas and heritage towns are made more affordable.
